Pumpkin garland - Halloween decor
How about some pumpkins? They are made of two layers so that one color can peak through the cutouts on the front shape. Find the download link to this free shape below in the post.
For this garland I first just glued the string between the two shapes being careful to glue where you wouldn't be able to see the string through one of the holes, but the front pumpkin took shape of the string and I did not like that so I made a circle to glue to the back of the pumpkin to give more freedom to where you put the string and to avoid the string shape showing through on the front.
I tried my new color scheme to go with the wreath I made for the front door. I used this cardstock pack and this one. I used this twine (similar).
A totally gratuitous show of a stack of cut out pumpkins. Happy Halloween! Moving on...
Here you can see how I fastened the string using the small circle I included.
You can also make the garland with more traditional colors like here.
Or black and white. And smaller.
Here I sized down the shapes In Cricut Design space so that the pumpkin so that it was just under two inches tall. Remember if you do this to size both shapes at the same time to easily get an exact fit. Let me know in the comments below if this is something you would like to see a tutorial for. The circle I sized up to 3/4 inches. Aim for the center of gravity to be such that the pumpkins don't turn upside down. You can achieve this by placing the circle towards the top of the pumpkin like shown below.
You can also string these individually and put on some branches in a vase or I even used one as a card. They could also be a filler in a pumpkin treat bag. Etc etc.
