Last minute gift idea for Mother's Day - with free printable tags
This week I got to spend some time with this fabulous lady, Amber, of Wills Casa.
She flew in from Texas this week and came down for lunch. We had such a great time. She helped me taste test a new recipe that is coming over at A Home for Food soon. Then the next day, we toured LA together. We hit a few vintage shops, a ceramics store and few other places.
One of the stores we visited was full of greens and plants fabulous pots and faux succulents called Rolling Greens.
I got that little white pot with the holes texture in it and some of the succulents you see below.
The green glass vessel is one that I got from JoAnnes a while back and the brown/gray pot is from IKEA.Here is my really quick idea for a last minute Mother's Day gift. And I made some tags that are a free download at the bottom of the post.
I used some flower foam for the green pot. I pressed it down over the rim to get a gauge of the size needed, then cut it in a cone like shape (minus the tip) to fit into the pot.
I pressed it down all the way to the bottom and then added my first two branches. Then I filled the top of the foam with some brown bark, to hide it and then I placed the third branch into the foam.
Pretty easy, right?
I wrapped it in cellophane and added one of the tags with some ribbon.
For the second option, I used the green glass vase and filled it with brown bark.
Then I cut down the length of a stem with three succulents, so that I had shorter individual branches. Then I inserted them into the bark.
Super simple too.
I tied the tag onto the vase with some green grosgrain ribbon.
For the third option, I again pressed some foam over the rim to gauge the shape and then cut a cone shaped sort of circle out of it. This one, I sized so that the foam would sit just below the rim of the clay pot. Then I added some reindeer moss to the top of it.
Next, I added a large faux succulent over to the side. Then two smaller ones on the other side. They hold the reindeer moss in place.
I added two rubber bands around the pot and attached the third tag with a miniature clothes pin.
That's it. Three quick Mother's Day gift ideas. Or of course you can just use the tags to your own gift idea as well.
